Uncasville,
Connecticut – February
12, 2007 – 15 year old Tyler Bowers won the US Open of Arenacross, taking
down some of the series biggest names in the process and finishing second in
the year end points championship. In a surprising upset, 15 year old rookie
sensation Tyler Bowers took down some of the biggest names in Arenacross en
route to winning the 2007 US Open of Arenacross and a cool $50,000.
Bowers swept the top spot on the podium in the 250 main events, winning on both
Friday and Saturday night. He was equally as impressive in the 450 class,
finishing second on Friday night and third on Saturday night. Even more
impressive than his performance this weekend was the fact that Bowers finished
second in the overall points standings in just his first full year of
competition. Arenacross is known for its aggressive
riding and tough tracks so for a 15 year old rookie to finish in second place
is a true testament to his riding ability. When asked what his plans were
for the money, the dedicated Bowers responded “Put all of it right back into my
racing program.” Tyler plans to expand his racing program this summer
where he hopes to compete in the AMA Motocross series, along with other
selected events for American Honda and the rest of his sponsors that have
helped him get this far. Tyler would like to thank all his sponsors:
American Honda, MDK, SHIFT, Maxxis Tires,
Alpinestars, Smith Optics, EK Chains, Renthal, Cycra, Enzo, Tom Morgan Racing,
Yoshimura, Twin Air, One Industries, One Eighty Decals, , Z-Billet, SFB, Freese
