Bowers Ready To Air Out

1/26/2007

BooKoo Arenacross Championship Series

Fort Worth, TX (January 25, 2007) – Known for his exceptional skill as an amateur motocross rider, 15 year old Tyler Bowers jumped into the pro ranks this year contesting the BooKoo Arenacross Championship Series. Going into round #7 of the 10-event series this weekend at the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, Oklahoma, Bowers has four main events wins and is sitting second in the series point standings.  The only rider sitting between Bowers and winning the championship in his first season, is 2-Time National Arenacross Series Champion Darcy Lange who has a commanding point lead over Bowers. Lange holds down the point lead with 496, while Bowers has 389 points.

The Lazy E Arena is the largest and most demanding track on the series, making it very similar to a supercross track. A typical arenacross track is held in arenas where basketball and hockey is played with a floor size around 120’ X 220’. The Lazy E Arena is known as the world’s largest rodeo floor at 160’ X 440’ allowing Shane Schaefer and his crew plenty of room to create a track to let the riders air it out!

“I am looking forward to riding this weekend at the Lazy E,” said Bowers. “I adapted pretty well on the tight tracks, but I can’t wait to see how I can do on the larger supercross style track.” Although young, Bowers is very mature on a race track. His talent, speed, consistency and able to adapt to different tracks is the reason Bowers is not just racing, but competing for a National Championship.

Bowers is sponsored by American Honda, MDK Speed Equipment, Shift, Smith, Maxxis, FMF, Hinson, Works Connection, Tag, One Industries, Twin Air, Motorsports Production, Enzo, EVS, Rockford Fosgate, Fuel Clothing and Max Pitts.

Advance Reserved Tickets are on-sale at Maxey’s Cycle in Oklahoma City,  www.ticketmaster.com , or call 405/235-8288.

Fans can come early Friday and Saturday night with a track walk and autograph session beginning at 6:30pm with professional racing at 7:30pm. More than 500 youth and amateur riders are expected to compete on Sunday, with main events at 2pm.
